Neopolitan Melt Down?

We have vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry converging this weekend at the local good old scout camp. All three flavors are staying at Arrow Cabin which, as you may recall, is a one room dump. I have asked Dan to bring his tent so that the elf and I can have the tent experience. I really didn't get the good experience of tent camping last July, and I want it now. The elf has never had that experience and I want her to have it. At Girl Scout camp she stayed in a large canvas tent with a wooden platform. It is not the same thing.

The elf and I will do a lot of hiking, fishing, and hanging out. I am sure that there will be some whole group activities, but we plan to give the Hyltons enough elbow room so that they can enjoy family and themselves.

Early on Saturday there is a mountain bike race that will be going on through camp. Over 100 people will be there zooming around. I hope to escape to an area that these goofballs will not be zooming around. When I signed up there was nothing said about this, but as I was looking around for a photo to put in my post I spotted the announcement. I hope Dan doesn't get discouraged. I will take it upon myself to provide fun and excitement in this weekends adventure. I will not be the source for stress.

The concept is set up for failure, but I will do everything in my power to make it a successful and great time for all who attend. Maybe we should invite Steve to come up from Iowa City for a little visit?

The question is, who is the strawberry?

I imagine I am the chocolate that will stay between the two Hyltons. I would guess that Sean would be the strawberry. Reason being that he would look the best as a ginger(red head). Dan would be the vanilla. Why? Because everyone likes vanilla.

I don't know. Sean is about as Vanilla as it gets.

I think the "recipe for disaster" is getting overplayed a bit. "Recipe for awkwardness" might be a little closer to the truth. I'm hoping to make the experience as fun & insteresting as I can for Sean's kids, but I've got two daughters to juggle as well.

Sean's not so sure he wants to go to Embers the next morning after camp. He informed me that it "still bothers" him, how we went into a Chipoltles all sweaty after playing basketball last summer.

Your concern early on for possible stresses are just being amplified.

The weather should be nice, the company should be outstanding, and the eats will be glorious.

I am losing sleep because I am sooo excited. Don't forget to bring your tent. Thanks!

I don't think you're reading my comments here any more thoroughly than you do my comments on CMC.

Not sure about the weather being so nice. I'm seeing thunderstorms in the forcast.
