Order at the Arrow
I want to first state that this last weekend was a pure joy. Except for the God forsaken mosquitoes, it could not have gone better. I even caught a giant fish from the Cedar River. Yes the great wasteland of water that flows adjacent to the camp. My pole flew into the water, but not until I grabbeded it in about a foot of water. The battle raged on for about an hour and a half. Look for photos in the near future.
Mr. Freeze was banashed and returned to the polar regions of the Earth. I built a fire in the fire ring outside with zero help. Dan offered me a fire stick, but I declined to use it. I had that baby raoring within two minutes. It burned most of the night and was a nice fire to sit around. For dinner Sharon and Dan made tin foil dinners and they turned out great. Sean and Taylor had a hot dog, while Emily and I grilled steaks. Yummy! For lunch we went to Pizza Hut for some delicious pizza. The place of pure debotchary was no longer reeking of such foolishness. It was pleasant and enjoyable.
We took a couple of hikes and they were a lot of fun as we watched the kids explore nature. The adults also got in their football tosses. Sean had a great new tent that we used as as a retreat from mosquitoes. It was a giant 13 person palace. Tent Hylton was so big I caught myself asking to talk to Paris Hilton. :)
The temperature was great for sleeping all weekend. We missed all of the rain too. I didn't sleep at all because the high winds made the trees crack and bend. I was nervouse about having a tree blow down ontop of us. Emily and I moved the tent at about 3:00 am because we really thought that there might be trouble.
We were up early on Sunday and packed up before the big bike race started. It was suppose to start at 10 am. We went to town to for breakfast to cap off the weekend. Nice little diner and great cinammon rolls. I will let Dan fill in the holes from this weekend.
Once again fantastic weekend camping trip! Thanks Dan, Sharon, Lucy, Rose, Sean, Taylor, and Emily!

Sounds like a hoot.
Good thing you didn't have to pack in Tent Hylton.
Great line by Sean, actually, as we caught Cory heading down to the water's edge armed (as only Cory could be) with fishing pole, tackle box, and toilet paper: "He's fishing for crappies."
Amazing fish, though. I got a picture & will post when I have time. Jesus, between the fire & the fish, I really take my hat off to Clog for the weekend. His new nickname is "Father O'Malley" for all the demons he banished up there on Echo Ridge.
Thanks Dan for the new nick name and for sharing the funny hook, line, and sinker reguarding the toilet paper.
May I just add that a good scout is always prepared.
Meth said, "Sounds like a hoot." Well sir it was indeed a hoot and we heard some owls that night too.
Excellent! Glad to hear about the fire.
As for the fish, I await the picture...
Oh, you just wait mister. I told you I caught nothing, but the reallity is so wonderful that I couldn't tell you about it on the phone, thus I said we caught nothing. IT was a flippin big and awesome battle.
Are those Sharon's shoes at the top of the fire photo?
