As for my first run ever, I am happy with the results. I ran the 5k trail run about 43 minutes. Who starts their running life with this tough of a corse? Tclog (The Bear) that's who. 5K's can only get easier I would think. Next year I hope to lower that time by a lot. I might try to make this an annual thing for me. It would be great if Dan wanted to do this with me every year.
I really enjoyed seeing Dan's family. The girls are getting big (tall not fat). Rose and Lucy were wrestling under a great white pine. It was a loving engagement and I had to smile as I watched them tussle and giggle. We all went to the overlook and then to the Schroder building to see some displays on Karst topography. A great day all in all with the Hylton clan!
I had the opportunity to see a few people that worked there when I was there in 97 and 98. What a flash back for me the last two weekends. A reconnection to my Minnesota past. Always a treat for me and a source of regeneration to my spirit.

It makes me glad that the day was such a source of enjoyment for you and that you're actually looking forward to running more 5ks in the future. You can definitely look for that time to go down. My time was about 2 1/2 minutes a mile slower than it would have been, had the race been on a straightaway.
No guarantees at this point (Fall is always so crazy), but I like the idea of doing this, annually.
Splendiferous!
Keep those bear legs a moving!
Excellent exellent
Great job dude. And yes - keep going, avoid the hunter and lick the honey on the run.
My legs are pretty ripped right now. I should be a leg model. Maybe ZZ Top will rewrite their song? "He's got legs and he knows how to use them...."
Man I bet Ingawanis Iron Man run would be a piece of cake compared to the Eagle Bluff 5K. Those hills at Ingawanis are a quarter the height of those at EB.
Run 'em!
Clog: so, have you run again since you got back?
