Dropping Out

I am not going to go on the Park to Park tommorrow. Last night I went to bed without supper and slept until this morning. My body aches and I had the chills last night. I never get the chills when it's hot. My body is still weak and worn out. Why? My guess is that it has to do with working long hours at school this week. It has been hot and VERY humid. I am having a very hard time breathing. My nose is stuffed good because of allergies. The pollen count has been at the top of the charts lately. Thus, I am not going to do it. I had a difficult time getting registered anyway. Que the Grease song "Beauty School Droppout", but instead of beauty school replace it with 5k.

Knowing your limits and when to take it easy is part of the game. Especially over the long haul. There will be other races this fall. Particularly, a certain one on Sept. 22.

Man, I am very light headed right now. I am considering leaving early. I feel like passing out.

Dehydrated?

Dehydrated...food poisoning, though that would have probably run its course by now.

Some germ infestation brought in by your students?

I did leave early yesterday. I just couldn't teach math in my 85 degree classroom. There is no air movement even though I have three fans blowing at full speed. The humidity makes it like 95 degrees in my classroom. I think that the big three got to my body over the past few days. Intense heat, insane humidity, and flippin' high levels of pollen in the air wore my body down to a point where I was very easily beaten by some bug. I had a temp last night of 102 degrees.
