The Guest Part One

My accounts of what traspired this past weekend. Dan arrived around 10:00 pm on Friday night. I greeted him at the door and we proceeded to bring his things into the house. His things were placed down stairs and I suggested that we walk to my neighborhood establishment of spirits and food. What a great time we had talking about work and life in general. There was a good amount of funk being played on the jukebox. We had a couple of beverages and shared a bowl of breaded cheese curds. A very good time!

The next morning I made Dan and Emily a bowl of oatmeal along with a bagel and bananna. We even enjoyed a small can of pure pineapple juice that was made not of concentrate. After a hearty breakfast, I bunddled up the kids and we headed out towards my work. I wanted to show Dan my forest and prairie. On our way there we stopped and gave Dan the opportunity to get some coffeee at a downtown coffee shop. While in the car, I asked the kids if they were having a good time with Dan and they said, "yes." So we turned around to pick him up since we didn't have a parking spot.
We walked around the grounds and checked out the educational forest and prairie. I counted to three and asked everyone to hide. I took a shot but I couldn't find them anywhere. We didn't spend too much time there but we got our arms lose for the afternoon ball game. Jonah loved just running on the track as we threw the football. He sure is a funny little guy.

Once leaving my work, I drove us to Hartman Reserve for some hiking and forest football action. Now that our arms were warm, we need a little bit of a challenge to get our accuracy matched up with our throwing. Emily even got into the action for the first time. This practice will pay off later in the day. See the video for an example of her accuracy and skill.

After a lot of fun at Hatrman Reserve, Dan and I took the children back to the ranch and we headed out for lunch at Los Cobos. I should point out a cool fact that when we saw a dog, I put Jonah up on my shoulders because of his fear of dogs. To my surprise he wanted down so he could pet the dog. Good job little guy for overcoming your fears. I wish daddy could do that. On our hike we viewed this sign. It is titled Lucy's Meadow. Funny to see something like this on our hike through the bottomlands of Hartman Reserve.

Lunch at Los Cobos was fun for me because it has been a place that I have been wanting to visit for a long time. I am not a huge fan of Mexican food, but this was some good eats. I am not sure if Dan liked it, he said that it was okay. The atmoshere was a treat for me. I had a good time. I should mention that I locked my keys in the truck for the first time. I was mad for a short spell, but was able to be my own hero when I remembered that I put a spare key in my wallet. Things were cool after that. I am sure that Dan was thinking that I might go nuts at any moment. I was a little upset with what I did, but like I said, it was short lived. After our lunch we made our way over to the CF Library. They have excellent restrooms. I bought a book for my classroom at the Book Nook located within the library.

On the way home we listened to some pump it up music.

Damn! Those toilet seats! The one thing I truly regret leaving off my own recap! That was the nicest thing I have ever sat on.

Not as evocative as the Dan recap, but enlightening nonetheless...

No comments on the video or photos? I didn't see anything on Dan's post yesterday. He must have done it last night. I will check it out now.
