It's the Snow Bandit and she means business! Emily does look like mean and serious in this photo, but let me assure you of the fact that she is a true kid at heart. We had a blast last Thursday in our backyard. Jonah, Emily, and I played in the snow and cold for about an hour. The temperature was below zero with the wind chills, so I made the kids wear their face masks. Most people build snow forts, have snowball fights, or sled down hills on snow days. However, we are not most people and we like to play rough. We wrestle and chase each other all over the yard. People driving by must think that we are savages.

Jonah was so into the backyard fun that he wouldn't even make a fuss when snow got on his forehead. He knew that I would want him to go in if he was cold. He seemed to spend most of the time staying close to the ground. Here he is making a snow angel. The little guy is in bliss. He has the coolest boots ever. I wish that I had boots that light up too when I walk.
Jonah did have a moment when he became the snow monster and attacked me when I was already down. The little guy sure is strong.

Nothing like those little kids getting after it when you're on the ground. Of course, you're in a lot more danger when they're not ever trying to hurt you. That's when they do things like jump onto your crotch or neck.
Yeah, I know - it's as bad as it sounds. But it's part of being a dad.
I have not had the pleasure of getting my neck stepped on yet. But I have had the crotch attacked on a number of adventures.
The little forester was just trying to clear deadwood out of the crotch rot.
Crotch rot has been eradicated many many moons ago. The wood is now a national park designated for recreation.
