Nature Trivia

I like to visit the websites of places I use to work from time to time. On the EB site there is a link to their blog. The blog basically states who was there and what they did. They also have a nice phenology feature with a photo or two to go along with. Recently, however, they added a Nature Trivia section. A few weeks ago I answered the question and ended up being the only one to respond. I must add that I responded correctly.

As I watched the next couple of weeks come and go with no responses from anyone, I wanted to encourage the blog manager that this was a well thought out component and it should continue. I encouraged EB by responding to yet another of the questions. Again I was correct with my answer. The blog manager posted a comment on the post about my answering again correctly. I thought that I would include it here (following comment from the Eagle Bluff Blog):

NATURE TRIVIA QUESTION!!!

Last week's answer was indeed Burdock (another correct answer for C.F. Bear)

This week's question is:

In what very common flower's leaves (often this flower is called a weed) can you find: Vitamin C, Vitamin A, Iron, Potassium, and Calcium?

(me again) What would you guys guess for this weeks question? I would guess clover.

I'm guessing dandelion.

Dude! Keep posting the questions here!!!

Dandelion is a great guess. You could be correct. I was totally thinking of noninvasive species.

Will do with the posting of the questions.

Your mama!

Who's the ass? :)

No, that's just Mixdorf delivering the classic, impeccably-timed "Your Mama!"

It is worth noting that these often serve as a nice diversion from those few instances when he's got no basis of knowledge from which to draw an intelligent response. I'm not saying that this is one of those instances, but I'm just mentioning it, is all.

Oh, it's one of those instances...

I guess we have stumped the chump?

YEAH! The answer for the trivia question was DANDELION. Great job DAN. Thanks for backing me up on that one. I guess I have to remember to get my glove down on those grounders.

Meth: You're a mama! :)

I will never claim to be an equal with regards to knowledge of nature.

Stumped I am.

Just wanted to say something about the Cave addition. If you want to guess what the Nature Trivia Question is then just send it out in an e-mail. If there is a better way I am all ears.

Once again good job Danny

Thanks, man. You & Gibbs definitely have me in knowledge of flora, but every once in awhile, I may leap up and surprise you. Mainly by virtue of hanging around Sharon. There may not be a thing growing in our yard that chick can't make tea out of.

I'd be more for continuing to put the question in as a blog post, rather than a thing in the side panel. That is, if it wasn't a bigger hassle for you. I'd rather keep the communique within the blog scenario.

That said - what, fastest LAND animal? (cheetah) or fastest animal, period (African Swift)

I am flexible. Sometimes I leave my post up long enough to let others respond. I do want to post the trivia before others have responded to another post of mine.

I will try to post it and then people can guess. We will se how it goes.
