It has been a wet spring. We are being blitzed by heavy thunderstorms almost daily. The Cedar River is busting at the seams. Last night I went downtown and took some pictures of the rising water. In CF, the Cedar is considered at flood stage when it is at 12 feet. Last night it was at 23 feet. Two additional feet are yet expected before midnight tomorrow. I never seem so much water here before. In 93', I was in drought laden Philmont. The television is telling us that these are record levels. We didn't have this much water in 93'. Here are some photos of what is going down outside of the cave. I will send some Wloo flood photos later.

I am talking to Cory now.
Iowa City is no better. In fact, it's supposed to get to worse than '93 levels here, too. I was here in '93, so I can't say I'm too excited. I'll have to break my internet hibernation and post photos later this week.
Not effing good. Stay safe guys, and stay dry.
Keep a boat handy.
Nothing but heat here...4 days of 95 degrees.
I've been following that. The west and east coasts are in desparate need of the kind of rain that's been killing us out here in the Midwest.
I'm expecting to get out over lunch today to check on river levels in town.
The water crested around 3 am here at the very top of the dike. It is dropping slowly. The bad news is that we are expecting 2-4 inches of rain today through tonight.
This reminds me of an old Johnny Cash song titled How Highs the Water Mama?
Or...
When the levee breaks, you got no place to stay....
Hee.
