Papa's Pizza

Papa's Pizza is a place that I heard Dan talk about a lot. I have never been there prior to this visit. We would have gone there during my last visit but something came up or it was too late to go out. I don't really remember the facts of why we didn't go before.
Anyway, we made it this time. Man, I sure am glad we made it this time. It had a great atmosphere and the food was very good. The company was slightly better. Dan raves about Papa's and I see way.

Dan enjoyed a couple of his favorite beers and we had a pleasant conversation. I think that I had Mountain Dew. The cheese pizza was warm and full of stretchy cheese. The large was no match for two hungry adventurers. It didn't take too long for us to finish that bad boy. Dan can correct me if I am wrong, but I think that we even had cheese bread before the pizza came. It is getting hard to remember the fine details of an extraordinary trip.
After leaving Papa's, we decided to check out this place that Dan believes to be a secret Dunkin' Doughnuts. They don't advertise as if they are DD, but Dan said that he saw the DD van sitting behind this mom and pop doughnut store one day. Heck, DD or not, they make good doughnuts. We purchased a dozen to take back to the house for late night refueling because we had one more night left to do some crazy stuff.
Just one more post and the vist will be a wrap!

Good grief - you're losing track of the details...pick up the pace!

Papa's Pizza is delicious - I ate there twice during my last visit, including salads and cheese bread, along with several Surlys.

Secret DD huh? They certainly aren't ashamed of their presence in most of the country. Perhaps they learned something from the implosion of Krispy Kreme.

Short & sweet.

I take everybody who visits to Papa's. And the donut place, if they're willing for the skip across the river over to Columbia Heights.

Must have that pizza. I have fallen out of love with pizza over the years, reserving it for once or twice a year. A few local places do a good job in Iowa City, but I've gotta get out of the house more.

TC: Thanks for the post, and thanks for your ability to spell the word "doughnut". I was at Wal-Mart yesterday, and saw they have a "donut" section.

What?????

Don't eat pizza but once or twice a year? Good Lord! You are amazing!

I eat pizza all but two days a year.

I know that I am not a good speller. I am surprised that I know how to spell my own name. :)

I can't spell it "doughnut." I just can't. You may as well just say "schlong nut."
