Melba Edna (Bruesewitz) (Benker) Kuper, age 88, of Osage, died Sunday, May 10, 2009, at the Faith Lutheran Home in Osage. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 15, 2009, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Osage with Rev. Dennis Hanson and Rev. Roy Ott officiating. Burial will be at the Grafton Cemetery. Visitation is from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage.Melba was born June 30, 1920, at Ottertail, Minnesota, to William and Ella (Heckstein) Bruesewitz. She grew up in the Grafton area and attended Grafton schools. Melba married August Benker of Blue Hill, Nebraska, on September 5, 1943. He died in 1982. She then married Jerry Kuper of Osage on September 10, 1987. He died in 1999.
Survivors include her two daughters, Phyllis Brandau of Osage, Shirley (Charles) Bentley of Waterloo; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; two brothers, Earl (Dora) Bruesewitz of Osage;and Don (Rose) Bruesewitz of Mesa, Arizona.She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, August Benker; her second husband, Jerry Kuper; a brother, Elmer Bruesewitz; and a great-great-granddaughter, Bryanna.Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home, Osage (641) 732-3706.

Ah, Cory. I'm sorry to hear that. She appears to have lived a full life, leaving behind an enduring string of descendants; though I realize that doesn't necessarily soften the blow in the moment. Peace to you and your family.
My condolences and best wishes.
Her long life should be celebrated and the vast number of people she touched over those many years should remember her for the goodness she brought into their lives.

Significant as it was for you to post this; I just want to make sure it doesn't make you traceable to this forum in the future, should that be something you are still interested in avoiding.
