May 5th with the Second Grade

Hola! On May 4th we celebrated Cinco de Mayo at school. We had every student participate in a series of stations that stretched from eating authentic Mexican food to wacking a star filled with candy.

Believe it or not, but the pinata lasted through 63 wackings. It was finally brought down by the guy standing just to the left of the pinata.

I was in charge of organizing the madness that could have taken place. They even came up to get candy in a orderly fashion. I hear that the 4th grade teachers made the simple mistake of letting the students run for the candy. In second grade we like to keep things neat and orderly when we have 63 students to manage and protect. Just wanted to show our diversity and enthusiasim for multicultural awareness here at my school.

Sounds like fun. Glad to hear you didn't somehow manage to put yourself in the position of the guy that got to bust open the pinata.

Adios!

I had the option, but since I destroyed the one we had a month ago at a staff party, I decided to let someone else do it.

At the staff party, I was second in line to wack the pinata with 15 others behind me. I took one swing and killed the bastard. Candy went everywhere! I got some looks that screamed ASS after that powerfull display. Thanks for checking the blog Amigo!
