With all the talk about politics, and thinking of past presidents, I have decided to give my classroom citizens a New Deal. Inspired by FDR and Meth, I am giving my students the opportunity to have talk time. The DEAL is for them to get all of their talking out during talk time and to work quietly during work time.
We will see how this works out. The talk time is about 5 minutes between 20 minute blocks of work time. I had to talk with a few students who think talk time includes going bonkers. My SCC (Student Conservation Corp) program won't take effect until the 18th when we plant our native prairie.

He was great. Did you know that I am the only one of us that went to Roosevelt Elementary? Just one of the many benefits for living on the East Side.
