Number 1: I miss the great Hylton Haunted Halloween parties. The haunted house was always great and crazy fun. The alien autopsy was my favorite. Good times and scarry stories. One day they may return?
Number 2: I miss the second weekend in October. Why the second weekend in October? That was the weekend we use to set aside for the Cowboy Campout. Those were fun times. Some of my favorite memories include the Irish cowboy, the hangings, Jason yelling at his woman, and shoot outs.

The October outings continued to quite recently, though they'd taken a turn away from the cowboy campout.
Haunted House & Halloween party...to return someday, without a doubt. I just need to wait until both girls are old enough to help, rather than hinder, any planning and preparing. Lucy & I made a little Haunted House this year that's sitting around till the next time one of her friends come by and goes through.
Great times, indeed. We'll have to "wax historical" when I come down on the 17th.
Understand with the children being little it's hard. I know that you will have it again, but I am missing it a lot. I think of it every Halloween. I also think of Spooky World. That is a place that I must see someday. I toast you and your future haunted parties.
The cowboy campouts have turned in a direction that was not true to the event, but they were a hoot back in the day.
I had great hopes for Spooky World, and went with Sharon one year to great disappointment. A big part of that may have been the huge lines, as it was a week or two out from Oct. 31. I'd be willing to try it again, earlier on in the month. There's another place in the T.C. that's called "Trail of Terror" that's supposed to be pretty good, too. I just can't help but to feel that my basement raised the bar somewhat.
It not only raised the bar, it raised the dead!
