We soon headed out after the photo and I could hardly keep up with the little ghost. He wanted to ring the doorbell on every house. He would even ring it even if the owner was looking out the window at us. A few times he would ring the bell a couple of times if they took too long to get to the door. He made me laugh so many times because he was so excited and polite. If they still took a while to get to the door after two back to back ringings he would pound on the door and say, "Hello, is anybody in there?" I tried to direct his actions towards waiting after the first ringing, but what can you do with an excited 4 year old?
Everyone thought that he was cute. He always said, "Trick or treat and thank you!" at each house we stopped at. Some people had dogs and when the bell rang they would start barking. He has had some bad experiences with dogs and he would ask the owner nicely to put their dogs away before opening the door to give him treats. The owners understood and thought that he was cute. We then talked about how it is better to stay close to daddy when their is a dog in the house rather than asking the people to put their dogs away. When we experience dogs, I always reiterate that not all dogs are scarry. Most dogs just want to smell, lick, and play with you. But once again, what can you do? A 4 year old will say what they feel they need to say. We will continue to try.
The poor little ghost had a huge bage full of candy. I had to carry the bag between houses for him and he would carry it up the steps. After about three blocks worth of houses, we headed back to grandma's house. Tired and hungry for candy, we each enjoyed a mini chocolate bar.
By the way the glow stick lasted all night and was still glowing brightly this morning. When I woke up he was sitting under his blanket looking at the soft glow of his blue glow stick. He said that he was pretending to be hiding from giants in this cave and that the glow stick allowed him to see everything inside the cave. Happy Post Halloween my friends!!!!!

Awesome. If you really think aobut it, it's a pretty crazy, yet wonderful, tradition. I mean, you just walk up to houses and ring the doorbell and they give you candy? Come on!! It truly is a kid's dream come true.
Cute little ghost, there.
Having kids is fun and exciting. To live through them all over again is like having multiple lives. Kids are great!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes they are - he looks like an angel!
