Last night Sarah and I had to be chaperones at Emily's junior high. This was our first time ever watching over other teenagers as they hung out in the cafetorium (combination of cafeteria and auditorium) for three hours. The people in charge rotated us to different stations every half hour. Our first station was the most difficult. We had to keep students from going down a particular hallway. They had a 1001 excuses as to why they felt they needed to go down this particular hallway. Sarah and I blocked them well and brushed off their eye rolling and sassy comments. Since we are educators, we are use to that kind of behavior from students.
Man nothing like hearing Thriller and YMCA again. How do these kids even know what Thriller is? The only Micheal Jackson they know would be the freak. They would or should have no knowledge of the once talented M. Jackson.
Anyway, the evening went on without a hitch and we had an interesting time watching junior high kids act goofy. I guess that I would be willing to do it again if asked. Gibbs you just wait my friend. Your time for this is coming.

I can imagine you in the roll of the 'bad guy' in Breakfast Club, though with a slightly less deranged disciplinarian bent.
You mean the principal guy?
It wasn't like that, they just want to go screw around in areas of the school where they shouldn't be. We were polite but firm in our requests that they go back from which they came. Emily had a good time. She entered the limbo contest and made it through just one time. The second time through she fell backwards and was tapped out.
Man bloggin is sllllllllooooooooow! What the heck is everyone doing? Work?
